Quidplayer is an embeddable online MP3 player store that allows artists to sell tracks to their fans directly from their website or MySpace profile, and allows fans to set their own price for the tracks they download. Fans can pay a price they think is fair, and rest assured knowing that the artist takes home 90% of the profits.
Quidplayer's unique "Pay What You Want" design is based on the philosophy that people will pay good money for good music - even if it's up to them to set the price.
No! The minimum price to download your MP3s is always $0.00. However, because our credit card processing service charges a minimum transaction fee of $0.30 (plus 2.9% of the sales price), we won't charge at all for transactions under $0.32. Remember, that's per transaction, so if you want to pay $0.04 per track for eight tracks, be our guest; but keep in mind that the artist will be making less than a penny!
Google Checkout takes $0.30 off the top, plus another 2.9% of the sales price, to process our credit card transactions. Artists keep 90% of the profits, and Quidplayer takes the other 10%.

The average transaction price is $8.19 when fans pay and $5.14 including free downloads. The average number of tracks per transaction is 5. As a result, artists keep MUCH more on average when they use Quidplayer, a staggering $1.37/track when fans pay and $0.90/track including free downloads.
Yes. Artists can provide a suggested price for individual tracks.
No. Quidplayer allows artists to suggest a price, but the final price is always up to the fan.
Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies limit the usage of downloaded digital media (including MP3s) by limiting the user's ability to play or copy downloaded files. We at Quidplayer do not distribute DRM-controlled music because we understand that DRM restrictions diminish the trust and intimacy between artists and their fans.
No! The copyright holder (usually the artist) maintains full control over content they upload onto Quidplayer. We don't own any of it, we just help sell it!
The tip bar allows fans to pay an artist for their work without downloading a track. Like a tip jar at a show, the tip bar allows fans to show their appreciation for an artist's work in general, rather than for a particular song. As with track purchases, the minimum tip amount is $0.32 in order to cover credit card processing fees.
No! Quidplayer uses Google Checkout to process credit card transactions, which means Quidplayer never sees your account information.
